Left Behind Story
Actor Kirk Cameron, from the 1980’s TV series Growing Pains, was the start in a movie titled Left Behind. He plays a television journalist who stumbles upon someone who he thinks is a bad guy, all while people are beginning to vanish all over the world. The movie is based on the novel Left Behind, which is the first book in the best selling Christian prophecy book series of that name.
The Left Behind series follows a group of people over roughly 16 books, depicting their trials and tribulations during the 2nd coming, as told in the Book of Revelations, and the coming of the anti-Christ. Some of the characters do not start out religious whatsoever but events that they cannot ignore begin to sway their judgment and cause them to thing more clearly in order to save themselves and their loved ones.
All over the world people are disappearing, leaving their clothing and material goods behind, leaving cars unmanned in the streets, and utter chaos on earth ensues as those that are left behind are wondering where the others have gone and what has happened to them. The series describes how those that are left behind are feeling and how they are dealing with the thought that something they previously did not believe in might possibly be true, as the evidence is right there before them in plain sight.
The telling of the Book of Revelations describes how Christians will basically disappear during the Rapture which means anyone being used as a character in the book during the Rapture phase is obviously not Christian or they would have been taken from the earth. As their characters develop, they begin teaching others about what they have learned and seen in order for others to be saved as well, sending them to safely to heaven as new Christians or possibly Born-Again Christians, ready to renew their promises to God and Heaven.
The series, having sold over 11 million copies, is definitely a good read and an eye opener for many that are not learned about all things regarding the Book of Revelations.
